Traditionally, when women became mothers, their role in society was suddenly limited to their home, their children and husbands. Little by little and thanks to women that have fought untiredly, mothers have gained room at the workplace, but it hasn’t been easy since society has been hard on them, judging women who work on the argument that they have “neglected” their home and their kids.
But that could be farer from the truth! Various studies have proven the benefits children and society in general have because of working moms; and that’s why, today, in honor of Mother’s Day, TinkerLink wants to celebrate those women that have fought for their families proving to be an example of perseverance, sacrifice and hard work, teaching us some invaluable lessons:
- There`s time for everything: Mothers have taught us that with a Little bit of organization and planning, we’re all capable of achieving everything we want; and they prove it every day, performing several tasks at once so that nothing is missing at work and home.
- Don’t let anyone tell you that you can’t: They have showed us that being a mother is not a synonym of staying at home, giving girls the encouragement to be ambitious about their future.
- At home, everyone helps: That’s right! No more houses where only girls help because now they’re busy changing the world. At home, tasks must be giving equally teaching children, boys and girls, to be more capable in the future, because they’ll even know how to do the laundry!
- Don’t bring work home: Moms know how hard it is to have a professional and a personal life, that’s why they’ve learn that it is crucial to separate work from home.
- There’s nothing wrong with asking for help: Working moms know that even though we know they are wonder women, it’s okay if sometimes they need a nanny, a relative, or their husband, to help with the care of their children, especially if they’re babies.
But, the most important lesson that working moms have taught us is to work giving our best effort, like them that no matter how tiring their day is, they always show their best face to work.
Happy Mother’s Day! Thank you for everything you teach us daily.
