The Secretary’s day in Mexico is celebrated every year on the third Wednesday of July. This year is on July 19. This date was established by the President of the Executive Secretaries of Mexico in 1958, with the purpose of recognizing the work of these people who are always aware of the activities and inconveniences of companies and seek to solve everything that in their hands and, without a doubt, make life easier for the rest of the corporation.
The secretaries were recognized internationally since 1952 when Maria Barrett, president of the National Association of Secretaries (ANS) established this commemoration in conjunction with C. King Woodbridge, president of Dictaphone Corporation and the business man Harry F. Klemfuss.
The main tradition of this day is to give some gifts for the secretaries, a lot of affection and congratulations. Especially in Latin countries, workers usually give flowers and chocolates to secretaries. Some companies usually prepare meals, celebrations or at least a cake, cookies and everything that can make happy these people who have such an important rol in any organization.
No matter how great is the gift, or whatever resources are used for the celebration, the important thing is that today our dear secretaries do not worry so much about the problems of others and just enjoy their day and feels like the queens of the office. At the end of the day, that is what they are.
Happy Secretary Day!
