Nerves and anxiety kick in. The quest to find the perfect photographer begins, but there are hundreds of options, the Internet is full of professionals and companies offering these services, but their rates are so high that I would probably have to mortgage myself to be able to get married and have great wedding photos.

What should I look for to make sure I hire the best photographer?

My first option comes in!

The first photographer I contacted had a very professional book. She explained different ways to carry out a photo session, she proposed different locations, a private session with my future husband, she would bring a make-up artist and a wardrobe assistant with 5 different outfits. On the day of the event, she would bring along four assistants to help her record the wedding from five different points of view, along with sound editors and a drone, and it was then when I thought… Am I getting married or recording Titanic, The Sequel?

Her rates were out of my budget. When you’re getting married you must prioritize, and I couldn’t spend so much budget on this. Besides, I didn’t want to hire a company, I wanted to hire a trustworthy expert who could do this work for me, a quality job but in a more intimate and reserved way. So, I thought I should look for someone that hadc previoucsly worked for one of my friends or contacts, someone recommended; it’s easier working with someone suggested, it gives you more confidence, so I began my quest.

He took beautiful pictures, on the big day he made sure me and my fiancé weren’t the only protagonists but also included our friends and family in the video, he recorded testimonies from some of them and came up with different dynamics to create material, the result was a success.

Every time we go through our wedding pictures, we realize how lucky we were to find such a reliable person, someone who exceeded our expectations and that is now a part of our contact network.
